From Pastor Michele Robbins3/20/24
Hello friends, Welcome to spring! It is a beautiful day outside with new life abounding. This Sunday we will enter Holy Week with a palm parade at the beginning of our service singing the traditional hymn, All Glory, Laud, and Honor. Be sure to be on time to participate. We will have a movie showing of Up following the service. Items for children's Easter baskets that we will be handing out on Easter Sunday should be brought by this Sunday. Please limit plastic items. We have plenty of paper grass to use in the baskets. Coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, stickers, soft toys, and wrapped snacks like Annie's bunny crackers, raisins, trail mix, and granola bars. On Thursday we will have our Maundy Thursday service at 5:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. This is a quiet service when we remember Jesus' last night with his disciples. This service will be followed by a soup dinner in the social hall. Hand weight practice begins at 8:15 in the social hall followed by yoga practice on Thursday and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Our highway cleanup that was scheduled for Saturday is being rescheduled due to rain in the forecast. Explore Archery meets on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the social hall. Contact Bethany with questions. kerrbethany@gmail.com Chad and his crew are going to be repainting the kitchen. If you have left items in there that you want to keep, you need to remove them as soon as possible, including dishes, crockpots, trays etc. Anything that does not have a home in the cupboards will be put on the stage for giveaway and then donated. Thank you to John and Fran for cleaning out the refrigerators in the kitchen. If you put food in the refrigerator, please remember to remove it if it expires. Book study is this afternoon at 4:00 in room 106. We will be discussing chapters 17 and 18. Our last book study for this book will be on April 3rd. Friendship Forward meets on Wednesday the 27th from 5:30 to 7:30 in the social hall. I have attached the flyer so you can send it to people you know who could use supportive friendships. We will have a spaghetti dinner followed by a drum circle for everyone. Children will be making and painting bird houses while adults have time for supportive conversation and friendship building. As we approach Holy Week, with its highs and lows, let us always remember that we know how the story ends. Love wins! Shalom, Pastor Michele And in the beginning was love. Love made a sphere: all things grew within it; the sphere then encompassed beginnings and endings, beginning and end. Love had a compass whose whirling dance traced out a sphere of love in the void: in the center thereof rose a fountain.-- Robert Lax If you would like to receive this weekly email directly, please drop a note to Pastor Michele.
